Road to Evo Diary Part 3 – Four Days to go, What do you do?

adon alternate 1

Evo starts in four days. FOUR DAYS. I am nervous. I am anxious. I…am not where I want to be. I’m not going to lie, I’m not as ready as I’d like to be. I went through a 12 day straight 120 hour work gauntlet, and had a bunch of social obligations I had to keep. I haven’t been able to keep my own practice regimen commitment. I feel bad. You know what though? A set back is a set up for a come back. So what am I going to do?

Road to Evo Diary Part 2 – When Life Gets in the Way

Evo Logo

It’s been more than a week, heck it’s been more than two since my last update. In that time frame, I was very fortunate. I started a new career, which is very exciting. I’m still working my old job though, so I currently have two jobs(plus here of course). I think I’ve hit a wall that a lot of players hit at some point in their regimen, and it’s a tall one. It’s called life, and it can be really hard to climb over it. Continue reading

Injustice: Gods Among Us Comic Issue 21 Review

Injustice Insert 11Magical number 21! It amazes me how long this series has gone, and I don’t see any signs of it stopping any time soon. There seems to be very small plot progression in each issue, but the $1 price tag makes it easy to bear. In this issue the war really begins, and we get another look at the lengths Wonder Woman is willing to go for her view of justice.

Injustice: Gods Among Us Comic Issue 20 Review

Injustice Insert 10Issue 20 tries to play a horror movie type angle with Superman’s crew. It’s really hard to do that when you are dealing with superhuman beings. Regardless, issue 20 brings us an important reveal, and it helps drive the story forward. I really am wondering how many issues are in this series, especially since it feels like it’s been forever since I completed the Injustice campaign. That being said, let’s get into issue 20.

Injustice: Gods Among Us Comic Issue 19 Review

Injustice Insert 9I apologize for the delay in these reviews, real life has been a distraction(no excuse I know). But we will catch up this week! You will get one issue review per day until Friday. That being said, issue 19 is another talk heavy installment, but it focuses on Billy Batson, a character not usually given the spot light. Let’s see where Billy takes us in the issue 19.

Road to Evo 2013 Diary Part 1 – Why and How

My Things

This is an exciting year for us at 2 Shots of Geek. We have a fantastic and growing team, and for the first time, two of us are going to Evo 2013! KhaosMuffins and I will be making the trek to Vegas in July to compete in this year’s largest fighting game tournament. I will be competing in Super Street Fighter 4 AE v.2012, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and Injustice(if I can get into that tournament still). The road to Evo has started for us. I know we can’t make any of the majors left on the official Road to Evo, but I will be sharing my training regimen with you all, as a way to mark progress, and also keep myself focused on the big picture. Here we go!

Injustice: Gods Among Us Comic Issue 18 Review

Injustice Insert 8The time to pick sides is here. I had said previously this series reminds me of the Justice Lords arc in the Justice League cartoon, but it’s starting to remind me of Marvel’s Civil War arc as well. It is also reminding me that heroes aren’t like they were when I was a kid. Back then, heroes weren’t really questioned, they truly were godlike. If they did something, it must be for our own good. Injustice is showing us that isn’t always the case. This is a talk heavy issue. How did it go? Continue reading

Injustice: Gods Among Us Comic Issue 17 Review

Injustice Insert 7The aftermath. In comics, the aftermath is as important, sometimes more so, than the actual event leading to it. This is the case because it is so easy to mess this up. Someone very important has been lost, and now we get to see how everyone reacts. As this important story continues, we are given a view most of us would have if we lived in this universe: from the bottom up. Continue reading

Injustice: Gods Among Us Comic Issue 16 Review

Injustice Comic Cover 6

Yes, it is a single issue review. I figured since now we are caught up, we should review the issues as they are released. The fight in Arkham has started, and as we saw in the end of issue 15, Robin is in quite a bind. How does this battle progress, and can it stay interesting as we go further into the story? Let’s find out.

Injustice: Gods Among Us Comic Issues 13-15 Review

Injustice Comic Cover 5

I’m a bit confused. I thought that this series would end right before the game came out, to make it an easy segway for those who wanted the game on release to get the full story experience. Apparently I was wrong, as this last week we got issue 15, and it’s still going to continue. That being said, things are continuing to get personal, as Superman is becoming more of a dictator than a hero, albeit a benevolent one(for the most part).
