Evo starts in four days. FOUR DAYS. I am nervous. I am anxious. I…am not where I want to be. I’m not going to lie, I’m not as ready as I’d like to be. I went through a 12 day straight 120 hour work gauntlet, and had a bunch of social obligations I had to keep. I haven’t been able to keep my own practice regimen commitment. I feel bad. You know what though? A set back is a set up for a come back. So what am I going to do?
It’s been more than a week, heck it’s been more than two since my last update. In that time frame, I was very fortunate. I started a new career, which is very exciting. I’m still working my old job though, so I currently have two jobs(plus here of course). I think I’ve hit a wall that a lot of players hit at some point in their regimen, and it’s a tall one. It’s called life, and it can be really hard to climb over it. Continue reading
This is an exciting year for us at 2 Shots of Geek. We have a fantastic and growing team, and for the first time, two of us are going to Evo 2013! KhaosMuffins and I will be making the trek to Vegas in July to compete in this year’s largest fighting game tournament. I will be competing in Super Street Fighter 4 AE v.2012, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and Injustice(if I can get into that tournament still). The road to Evo has started for us. I know we can’t make any of the majors left on the official Road to Evo, but I will be sharing my training regimen with you all, as a way to mark progress, and also keep myself focused on the big picture. Here we go!
It’s past Valentine’s Day, and we’re still here! We go over our experiences in this magical day, and how we used our geekiness to make this day good. We discuss all the new Playstation 4 rumors, Battle Cats, the new Halo 4 Spartan Ops episodes, Far Cry 3, and much more! Come get your weekly shot, it’s special and holiday driven!
Time for the Shot of the week! We talk about Fidel’s experience at SCR 2013, games we’ve played recently, the Halo 4 Infinity Challenge, games that are coming out, the latest gaming news, Battle Cats, and…randomness. Lots of randomness. The year has just begun, this is a bit of a slow episode, but only because…it’s one episode before we hit 52! A year of Shots! Get ready!
2012 has come and gone! We at Two Shots of Geek really appreciate you’ve all given us in our first year of life. In this episode, we talk about how we planned to spend the last days of the year, reflected a bit on what we played, The Walking Dead game, Barfights 2012, and discussed the future. Next episode is top 10 of the year, but for now, enjoy more randomness at year’s end!
It’s time for your weekly shot! It is a bit late, but here it is! We have been very busy, but we go over the latest gaming news, talk about our views on the next generation of consoles, what we’re up to, and a bunch of other random stuff. It’s December, and we’re tired. Enjoy!
Extra Life is a big deal for us here at 2 Shots of Geek. It’s that time of year when we can show the whole world that gamers care, and we are a giving community that gives to those who need it most. Since we are going to play games for 24 hours, there is a good amount of planning involved. Trust me, I did Extra Life last year, what you don’t want is to be wondering what to play next. Variety is the spice of life, as they say. Remember that if you’re in San Diego, you can join us at the Microsoft Store at the Fashion Valley mall for Extra Life(details here!). For now, I will go over my top 5 for Extra Life 2012. Continue reading
