My First Streamed Match – The Box Arena San Diego’s Last Battle of 2011

I mentioned in my intro that I am a fighting game enthusiast. I love competing, it fuels me, makes me happy. The thrill of the crowd, the environment, it’s exhilarating. It boils down to the competition between many players, two at a time, to see who is better. We put our pride on the line every time. We do it all to get better, and to help the fighting game community grow. The more people we make aware of the FGC, the bigger it will get. We will make a huge effort here to inform you of upcoming events, especially if it’s events we will compete in.

I had the opportunity to participate in The Box Arena’s last battle of 2011, which included Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition 2012 and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Here is the archived stream for that event:

If you skip to about minute 17, you can watch my set of matches against Street Fighter pro Chris King. His Vega is pretty damn good, getting him to the top 8 in SCR this last year. I take pride in my Adon play, as I know he isn’t a common character, and takes a particular type of skill to use. I’m glad I was able to hang with him, and the feeling of being watched by so many while being scrutinized was just…amazing. I can’t wait to do this again, I will participate in as many Box Arena and TTF events as I can find and have time for. Get hype everyone!
