Yes poor Shrek has to deal with the dreaded fact that his beloved Fiona is no longer the best looking Fiona around. And yes, only Shrek thought otherwise; at least until Razer’s Fiona took center stage at CES 2012. We got a first hand look at this amazing new gaming tablet.
Just what is Razer’s Project Fiona? It is a tablet made for gamers. It’s light for having the horsepower that is contained within. That really was a surprise when I held it, I expected it to be much heavier than current tablets and it really wasn’t. The weight seems comparable to the Asus Transformer tablet. The controls on the side are pretty comfortable, but at this stage not removable for storage. It was mentioned that Razer is considering that as a possibility for the final build. Yes, this is only a prototype and it feels like a finished product that is ready, but they have testing and other factors to push the release back.
The controls as you can see are very similar to both Xbox, Wii, and PS3 Motion all mixed together and taking the best from each. It looks sharp with an awesome high resolution screen. I seriously want one. But wait! There is more this beast is a Windows Tablet with Razer’s software running in the foreground. This means we can have the best of gaming and productivity.
As for the Hardware; you may want to start drooling! As this is pretty sweet and very powerful which delivers an incredible gaming experience as we saw first hand.
Intel Core i7
10.1″ 1280×800 display
Full-screen user interface supporting multi-touch
3-axis gyro, magnetometer, accelerometer
Force feedback
Dolby 7.1 surround sound
Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n
Bluetooth 3.0
You may have noticed that the GPU is not listed, but considering they had some very graphic intensive games running at the highest settings- we know it’s going to rock. Space Marine was played in crystal clear and smooth frame rates. And the audio is pretty sweet, too! THX certified and Dolby 7.1. That is close to perfection in audio. Check out our video below and I apologize for the clearness of the video. I want one and cannot wait to see the final product!
