CES 2013 Recap: Cool Geek/Tech Stuff!

Mimoco CES 2013 Transformers

Slow down, I know what you’re thinking. “Everything at CES is cool stuff!”. I know, it is. This post is for all the stuff that is hard to categorize, and it’s main purpose is just to be cool, geeky, and show it off. I also reserved this for items that just made us says “Wow!” but that we don’t have enough details in yet to know how much it will cost, or when we will get our hands on them. Without further ado…

Mimoco Mimobots

Mimoco CES 2013Oh yeah, Mimoco continues their streak of delivering new and quirky Flash Drives, debuting their Elvis Flash Drive at CES. We know that themed Flash Drives are a dime a dozen these days, but Mimoco was the original innovator in this area. They bundle extras on their Flash Drives depending on which one you buy. You may find Transformers wall papers for instance, or a Batman themed set of icons for your PC. I also love the chibi theme that they all have. Tiny Megatron looks freaking awesome! Keep track of our Facebook page, we will have a Mimobot to giveaway VERY soon.

NecoMimi Cat Ears

Necomimi Jorge CES 2013Yes, to the delight of Mimi, Kim, Kolby and many others, the cat ears are back. The Necomimi cat ears are controlled by brain wave patterns, and move based on what your level of focus/mood is. They go up, go down, wiggle, and a combination of all of those. The crowd was always buzzing at the Necomimi booth, with curiosity levels high as to what these magical ears could do. We saw these last year at AM2 in a more limited fashion, now they seem to be spreading. Don’t be surprised if you see someone wearing these at your next event.

Cellairis Wall O’ Shout Cases

Cellairis Wall Of Cases

Cellairis is a big player in the cell phone accessory space, we just haven’t seen much of them in the U.S. just yet, but I think that’s going to change. They were really showcasing their new line of Shout custom cases. These are cases you can customize online through their website, or using an iOS app. The picture above is a display they had composed entirely of custom Shout iPhone cases. It displays the high quality that you get from their Shout line. Shout cases are available for 14 phones currently, including the iPhone 5/4/3, Samsung Galaxy S3, and many more. Cellairis is looking to make a big splash in the U.S. market, with products and displays like these they are on the right track.

nVidia Project Shield

nVidia Project Shield CES 2013

You may be wondering why this is here. The reason is simple: we don’t have release date, price, availability, etc. on this wonderful piece of tech. I am in love with Project Shield though. A Tegra 4 processor, console quality controls, HDMI out, built-in battery, 5.5″ screen, stock Android, it’s all just delicious. I hope to get my hands on one of these at some point, but with release details still so scarce, I won’t hold my breath on this guy. It is an awesome product, I’m just not sure when or if we’ll get our hands on this guy any time soon.

This is just the tip of the iceberg, there’s a lot more we will report on for you guys. There’s a lot more awesome tech items coming, new innovations coming, tons of stuff! It all becomes a blur, but the future looks really bright, and it is very mobile minded. We will be walking around with Xbox 360 type power in our hands very soon. That’s an amazing thing. Keep checking back with 2 Shots of Geek as we bring you teh future 8 bits at a time!
