I have said it before and I will say it again, my phone is my portal to the world and I am nothing without it. I am overly cautious with my phone and will only use cases that offer a lot of protection. I have to say that the Amzer Crüsta phone case definitely went way above and beyond my expectations when my phone’s safety was involved.
Before diving into what I think about the case, let’s get a little background, shall we?
Amzer was founded in 2003 by a visionary that did not know how, one day, he would impact miliions by creating things that they would use in everyday life. Amzer has an incredibly wide array of products that range from protective screen coverings, to mobile phone cases, to mounting devices. The Amzer Philosophy is Inspired by Real Life, which means that not only do they create products that they think will sell to fill aesthetic need, but to fit into people’s daily lives as well. Have three kids that like to fight over who gets to pick the next thing to watch on mommy’s brand new iPhone while she’s driving, well chances are, someone at Amzer does as well and has been working on a solution for that.
The Crüsta case is available for most, if not all, smartphone brands, in 42 color combinations, so you definitely can get creative when picking out your colors. I stuck to Blue and Teal, which turned out looking very nice together! There are more than enough combinations for everyone to get exactly what they want to be happy.
Now, on to my review:
Upon initial unboxing of this product, I was a little disappointed. It was a thicker case. Anyone that has “girl jean” pockets can understand my dilemma with that. In the past I had used a thicker case to offer that shock absorbing protection, which was very nice, but I could never get the phone into my pocket. However, once I was able to get the phone into the case, I really did not have that trouble at all. It looked much thicker than it actually was, and I actually like that it offers my phone that extra shock absorbance that I desperately needed. This case did come with a holster, but I have never used a holster, nor do I want to start using a holster. But, I did like the fact that if I did want to start using one that I would not have to buy one separately.
Along with being a thicker case, the Crüsta offers a beveled edge all around the outside of your phone to maximize that shock absorbency. For example, just a few days ago, I accidentally knocked my phone off of the counter and it landed face down on my hardwood kitchen floor. I heard the worst SMACK that I have ever heard my phone make and I was sure that the screen was cracked. I bent down to pick it up and turned it over to see that everything was just fine! I was in shock. I had wanted to test this case out, but not to that degree. But, the case really did what it was designed to do.
My favorite parts of this case have to be the Kristäl Tempered Glass Screen Protector and the Crüsta Tempered Glass Hard Shell Layer that is built into the case. I am always looking for a good screen protector and so far, this one has been my absolute favorite. Not only is it tempered glass, it is also beveled for even more added protection! The application instructions were written out on the step by step instruction card and was extremely simple. (I usually have to have the sales rep at the store put them on for me just so that they’re perfect.) The bubbles that most screen protectors that I have had in the past were non-existent with this screen protector, which was great news to me. Unlike most of the other protectors that I have used, the Kristäl does not dull my screen’s appearance. If you did not know that I had the protector on, you really wouldn’t be able to tell. The hard shell case on the back is a similar story, though it was built into the case. I love being able to see the back of my phone, though I also miss having a design. But, now I can see if there is a problem without having to pry my entire case off, so that is a huge plus in my book!
On the bottom of the case, as you can see, you have the ports for the headphone jack and charging cables. This is the one part of the case that gave me some issue. I literally have to pry open the charging door every night in order to change my phone since I cannot get a good grip on it. This is not a big issue, but still slightly annoying. Another issue I had was the fact that the first couple of times I used my headphone jack, I had to really jam the headphones into the jack to get any sort of sound. After those few times, it works just fine. Just like before, not a really a big issue, just annoying.
So overall, I’m extremely happy with this product and would definitely recommend it to my friends and family.
